Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction services and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in Liverpool and Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside. Our services are currently provided from 124 sites across the North West.

Bank Staff Nurse – Learning Disabilities/Mental Health

Based at our Whalley site in Lancashire.

We are looking for motivated, hard working and enthusiastic Registered Nurses with excellent values to support adults with a learning disability within a forensic secure setting. You must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, being adaptable to changing situations. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy and intensive environment dealing with unpredictable situations whilst remaining focused on providing a person centred approach to care and treatment.

The Trust provides services that offer opportunity for people to progress through pathways to more independent community living. People who use our services typically have a range of complex needs and require support in Medium & Low Secure services and may have come into contact with Ministry of Justice. We also operate non secure moving on facilities.

This is an exciting time to join the Trust and influence the development of new services for people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues. The Trust’s services operate within the least restrictive principle and have adopted modern training approaches to ‘No Force First’ and ‘Perfect Care’.
