Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in Liverpool, Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

Based within our Core 24 Hospital Mental Health Laision Teams at Southport, the Royal Liverpool and Aintree Hospitals.

We are looking for motivated, hard working and enthusiastic support workers with excellent values to support individuals with mental health issues presenting at the above acute hospitals including taking the lead in Section 136 cases under the Mental Health Act and supportive observations. You must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, being adaptable to changing situations. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy and intensive environment dealing with unpredictable situations whilst remaining focused on providing a person centred approach to care and treatment.

This is an exciting time to join the Trust and influence the development of new services for people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues. The Trust’s services operate within the least restrictive principle and have adopted modern training approaches to ‘No Force First’ and ‘Perfect Care’.
