Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction services and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in Liverpool and Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside. Our services are currently provided from 124 sites across the North West.

Our ambition is to deliver perfect care and become the world’s leading organisation in physical, mental health, addiction and learning disabilities. We set our own standards and goals for improvements in care rather than aiming to meet minimum standards set by other organisations. Our values are those of: Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Support. We are the first Trust in the UK to publicly commit and develop a policy to have zero suicides among people in our care by 2020.

We work closely with service users, carers and partner organisations, we've been able to make real improvements to our diverse range of services, from health and social care, right through to high secure provision. This passion to improve has been recognised by the CQC who have recently rated us “Good” overall and “Outstanding” for being well led.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join our team of 26 community dietitians,
assistant practitioners and admin staff working within our community services division.
This is a rotational post based within the Community Services Division providing nutritional care within a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, care homes and patients own homes. You will manage a diverse clinical caseload incorporating nutritional support, frailty, chronic diseases, oncology, neurology and gastrointestinal disorders. Experience of enteral feeding and multidisciplinary working is essential. You will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills in Home Enteral Feeding with a view to supporting patients with feeding tubes in the community. You will also deliver general outpatient clinics and education sessions for patients and staff.

Multidisciplinary working and a patient centred approach is essential to providing holistic
care within the community setting. We communicate and integrate well with multidisciplinary teams and the Neighbourhood Integrated Care Teams across Liverpool, which include other Allied Health Professionals, District Nurses, Social Services, Voluntary services and GP’s.

This post is based within the Liverpool team working across the city, and you will be given the opportunity to rotate within teams covering the north, south and central localities as well as supporting the ICRAS team. We also have a team of community Dietitians working within South Sefton as well as other Dietitians working within mental health, secure services and the Liverpool Diabetes Partnership. There is an opportunity to gain experience within these settings as appropriate.

We provide student training placements for students from the University of Chester and you will be expected to contribute to the delivery of our student training programme.

Shortlisting will take place 1st June 2020.

Interviews will take place week commencing 8th June 2020.
